Sandstone Summer
This external area extended the dining room space (during summer) to open up onto this large patio area ready for barbq’s and family gatherings. The ground was levelled to eventually lay these lovely indian sandstone slabs along with the gravel edging and new brickwork. As you can see this outdoor area really compliments the house extension and utlises unused land adding value to the property.
There was some debate on the style of paving slabs to use, but as you can see the indian sandstone stands above the rest, adding colour at the same time.
The Challenges
The primary challenge was the uneven ground surface. We had to remove a lot of large stones and eventually, a number of ground levelling machines where used to get it flat and even. Once complete the rest fell into place.
The Result
Overall a great finish which added value to the property and in addition a large social area for the family to enjoy throughout the year.
